Welcome to The M.U.S.C.L.E. Preservation Society

Yes friends, the internet's very first M.U.S.C.L.E. website is back! We felt it only appropriate to resurrect our site on the 25th  anniversary of our original launch. We're back from close to a decade hiatus, and are super excited.

The M.U.S.C.L.E. hobby is once again buzzing with lots of activity, partly because of the increased interest in the mini figure and keshi hobbies. Parents have also passed the flame to a new generation that are anxious to find out what this old toy line is all about.

This new site is a throwback of an old design with original content. It will not only be informative, but will serve as a retro walk down memory lane. We will be uploading even more classic content in the coming months, and have some great plans for its future!

I've wanted to bring The M.P.S. back several times in the last few years, but at the end of 2020, it just felt like the perfect time for several reasons.

1.) My kids are grown, my life is stable, and its now easier for me to buy out more time
to do the things I love.

2.) I've recently downsized my toy collection immensely until all I pretty much had left, were a few items that I truly have an emotional connection with. In the end, M.U.S.C.L.E. was one of the last toys standing. This major minimalization has really shown me what's important in regards to collecting.

3.) I've created a lot of content on the web since 1996, but The M.P.S. was always the creation I was most proud of. I've missed how active I once was in the hobby and have great memories that still sit with me after all of these years. Recent renewed interest in the hobby just seemed like the perfect time to jump back in.

4.) Finally, the next reason is maybe a little self serving, but after the last year we've had, I needed something positive to be laser focused on. The minifig and keshi enthusiast community is definitely a fun and positive one. Its a niche hobby with like-minded people who are there for each other. This kind of camaraderie stirs my passion and creativity for this hobby, and inevitably has already begun turning me away from the path of becoming a sad and miserable person.

Me working on the the 'M.U.S.C.L.E Times' back in 1997..
the old printed quarterly newsletter for members

I spent thousands of hours working on content for The M.P.S. back in the day. I have such great memories of gathering images, scans, stories, etc., and compiling them into newsletter form for M.P.S. members. Crunch time as I called it, was when I had to get everything proofed, put together, run the masters to the printers, and get them mailed out by the promised date. As soon as I got back from the post office, I'd sit back and enjoy an immense feeling of accomplishment. After a day or so of rest, I'd start all over, getting ready for the next newsletter due out in a few months.

1st official Instagram post
My kids with part of my collection back in 1997

I launched our first ever Instagram account about a week ago, and I've been amazed at the outpouring of support from collectors welcoming us back. While this site will be primarily dedicated to M.U.S.C.L.E. and some Kinnikuman info, the Instagram account will be a bit broader with more keshi and mini figure content. It's primarily how I've been keeping in touch with old friends and making lots of new ones, so feel free to hit me up there anytime.

Make sure to check back often, as I will be busy updating the site with more classic content pulled from the M.P.S. Archives. Soon after that, I'll start sharing lots of new stuff I've got in the works. See you around, and thanks for stopping by!

Imagine if we used cameras back in the day as much as we used our phones today!
