As the new M.P.S. Instagram account continued to grow over recent weeks, I started seeing more and more M.U.S.C.L.E. fans singing the praises of 'Caffe Pacori'. Posts started popping up in my feed, that shared Pacori actually includes a M.U.S.C.L.E. figure as a prize in any bag of coffee that you order from them! I was instantly intrigued and decided to give their coffee a try. I figured if nothing else, I would get a M.U.S.C.L.E. figure out of the deal.
While I ordered the coffee primarily for the branding, I know from personal experience that if Oregon knows two things, it's how to make great coffee and beer. I soon learned that the product is SO much more than an idea that simply rests upon a gimmick.
Based out of Eugene Oregon, Caffe Pacori are coffee makers that do things their own way, and it shines through in the product they produce. They are anything but pretentious, and proudly state right on their web-site that they "laugh at coffee snobbery". I love that statement, as I've always felt the exact same way not only about coffee, but beer as well. Beer and Coffee 'Snobs' stroke their own egos and look down on others who they deem inferior because of their lack of knowledge, or by their drink preferences. Very quickly, you learn it's not about the coffee or beer really. It's about them. Look around Caffe Pacori's Instagram or web-site for 5 minutes, and you quickly see these are truly down to earth people.
Their Arabica coffee beans are sourced from all over the world, and they use sustainable hard woods to roast their coffee over an open fire. The coffee has a smoky and sweet essence to it, and the process somehow makes the beans way less acidic. I love how the coffee is even shipped in biodegradable paper bags with hand-pulled, screen printed labels using water based ink. Now that's commitment to a cause! I'm more than happy to support businesses like theirs, that put so much thought into their ecological footprint.
The first coffee I brewed up was Pacori's wood roasted Sumatran. The coffee filled the house with its amazing aromatic scent. I've got to say that this is the best cup of coffee I've had in a very long time. I kept finding myself wanting to inhale through my nose while taking each sip, so as not to miss a single solitary note of the layered flavors. It was so good, I had a few midday cups which I generally never do. Their house blend is incredible as well, and I plan on brewing some of that up using a French press tomorrow morning.
I highly recommend ordering up some coffee from Caffe Pacori. I promise that you will not be disappointed. If you're not a coffee drinker, order some up to get the M.U.S.C.L.E. prize inside, and gift the bag of beans to the coffee lover in your life. They will surely be incredibly thankful!
The owner Eric Pierce is well respected in the M.U.S.C.L.E. community, and is fast becoming a legend in the coffee biz. He's obviously a pop culture enthusiast, blending all of his loves seamlessly with a craft that he can truly be proud of. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a wee bit envious of what sounds like an absolute dream job to me. Make sure to follow him on Instagram to get a feel for what his business is all about, and buy some coffee from him online.
